Management

St.Thomas Public School is owned and managed by St.Thomas educational and charitable trust, a
non profitable charitable organization working for the total welfare of the people of our country.

Location

The school is located very close to Muvattupuzha township and it is adjacent to NH 49 Cochin-
Madurai Hill Highway. It is connected by highway to Alwaye,Ernakulam,Kottayam and Idukki.

School session

Normally there will be 5 day weeks (Monday to Friday). School timing is 8.30 am to 2.20 pm

Fees

The child has to pay fees in three installments, that is ,June, September and January, on or before
 the 5 th day of the month.

A child on Admission has to pay an admission fee of Rs.250/-.Establishment charges Rs.1000/-
every 5 years.

Admission to L.K.G.

Admission will be based on an interview where both parents should come with the child.
A child should have completed three and a half years by 1 st June of the year of admission.
Registration for admission will start with Vidyarambham.
Application forms and prospectus can be had from the office.
The filled in application should be accompanied by a copy of the date of birth certificate,
Date of interview will be noticed at the time of registration.

Admission to PLAY SCHOOL

A child of 2¹/₂  years can be admitted to play school. There will be no academic teaching but child learns through play.

Uniforms

The students have to wear the school uniform on all working days through out the year. The
prescribed pattern has to be strictly adhered to. The uniform dress shall be available at the office on request.

Withdrawals

Except in special circumstances ,withdrawal of a student before April is not allowed. Parents are, however, required to inform at least 2 months in advance if they want T.C.
 

                                                            EVALUATION

Nursery Selection

Evaluation is mostly oral and writing starts only in UKG. There will be no formal examination.

Classes I - VII

Highly structured and scientific objective type weekly assignments are used to evaluate the students and there will be no traditional sit down examination for I to IV. V to VII will have 2 semester examinations.

High School  VII-X

Two mid semester and two semester exams.

Plus Two

Two mid semester and two semester exams. X and XII will have model examinations also.

Promotion

The school has evolved a continuous evaluation system and promotion is based on total performance
in the whole academic year. This includes projects and assignments in all subjects.

It is the policy of the school not to fail a student as far as possible but a student who has not
acquired the necessary skill to study a higher class may not be promoted.
 

School Office Hours.

Monday to Friday : 8.30 am to 4.00 pm
Saturday : 9.00 am to 12.30 pm

Office will remain closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Parents shall visit the principal during Office hours.
